If you're here, you may have received a message from Legacy Claims Alliance, LLC, such as a letter, text, email, or call, about money that may be owed to you. It's smart to be careful. Here's what it's about and how you can check it for yourself.
Hi, I'm Mark. If you heard from us, it's smart to check that we're real before you do anything. Everything on this page is here so you can verify it yourself, and you never have to pay anything to look.
When a property sells at a tax or foreclosure sale for more than what was owed, the leftover money, called surplus funds, belongs to the former owner. County records are public, and we review them to find former owners who may be owed money. That's how we found your name and contact information.
You don't have to take our word for it. Contact the county office that handled the sale, usually the clerk of court, tax collector, or treasurer, and ask whether surplus funds are being held for the property. You can also look up your state's surplus funds or unclaimed property information online. If you're not sure which office to call, ask us and we'll point you to it.
No. There is no upfront cost, and you're always free to file the claim yourself directly with the county at no charge. If you choose to work with us, we only get paid if funds are recovered, and we explain our fee in writing before you sign anything.
We will never ask you for gift cards, wire transfers, or your bank login to look up your funds, and we won't pressure you to decide quickly. If anyone claiming to be us does, please email us right away at the address below.
Reply STOP to any text message, or email us your name and address and we'll take you off our list. No hard feelings.
